What is Pyralit?
Pyralit is an Australian-made brand built by BBQ enthusiasts for BBQ enthusiasts. We make tough, stainless gear that heats coals fast and lasts a lifetime.
Where are pyralit products made?
Pyralit products are made in our factory in Alexandria using a stainless steel laser cutter and put together by hand using rivets, and a hardwood handle.
Using Pyralit
How fast does it ignite charcoal?
Under 10 minutes. Load your organic starter, add the charcoal, light it up, and you’re ready to transfer and cook.
Can I use it with briquettes or just lump charcoal?
The system’s designed for lump charcoal - that’s where you’ll see real performance. But it’ll still work fine with briquettes if you prefer.
Do I need to use Pyralit charcoal and starters?
No, but we recommend them. Our hardwood charcoal and organic starters are made to pair perfectly with the ignition system - fast light-up, cleaner burn, and longer heat.
How much charcoal fits inside?
The Hero Unit comfortably holds enough fuel for most backyard cooks - around 3–4kg of lump charcoal.
Build & Materials
What’s it made from?
316 marine-grade stainless steel - the same material used in saltwater environments. It won’t rust, warp, or corrode.
What’s the handle made from?
Our handle is made from solid hardwood - it looks good, stays cool to the touch, and gives you extra grip and heat protection when lifting. The optional handle assist is made from the same 316 stainless steel adding extra support for bigger more frequent loads.
Will it rust?
No. 316 stainless doesn’t rust, even when left outdoors. That’s the point.
Shipping & Warranty
Where do you ship?
Australia-wide. Orders usually leave the workshop within 2–3 business days.
Do you ship internationally?
Not yet - but we’re working on it. Sign up to the newsletter to get notified when we open global shipping.
What’s your warranty?
Every Pyralit ignition unit comes with a lifetime warranty. If it doesn’t hold up, we replace it. Simple as that.
What’s your return policy?
If you’re not happy with your Pyralit gear, you can return it within 30 days of purchase. Products must be unused and in original condition. Change-of-mind returns incur a $27.95 return shipping fee. Faulty or damaged items are covered under our lifetime warranty and replaced at no cost.
